Steve grew up in Greece and attended Greece Olympia High School and Monroe Community College. Steve spent 14 years in the Marine Corps and Army Reserves. Steve was a Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy for 25 years retiring in 2017. Steve has been married to his wife Barbara since 2007. Steve and his wife Barbara are members of First Bible Baptist Church. Steve is involved with Athletes in Rochester ministry, AWANA and G&T Sports Park.

Steve enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and friends. Steve enjoys baseball, hockey and football. Steve and his wife enjoy travelling especially to Germany.
