JJ was born and raised in Dalton, NY and graduated from Keshequa High School in 1995. He attended Roberts Wesleyan College, where he met his wife Kelly (Northstar Christian 1995) and they married in June 2000. JJ worked in the Rochester City School District for 14 years before the Lord called him to accept a job at Northstar Christian Academy in the fall of 2014. He currently serves as Head of High School and Athletic Director. JJ has been the boys varsity basketball head coach for 16 years, guiding the Knights to 5 sectional championships and 3 trips to the NYS final 4 tournament.

JJ and Kelly have 4 children, all of which attend Northstar: Ryan (freshman in college), Alayna (12th), Iyla (10th) and Jay (8th). JJ and his family enjoy visiting state parks, playing board games, and watching each other’s athletic events.
