Lydia's interest in art began at an early age, and continued throughout high school, where she was able to take a few classes at the Creative Workshop in the Memorial Art Gallery, and also at Genesee Community College. She went on to study art more in depth, by majoring in studio art at Roberts Wesleyan College, with a concentration in painting. After graduating, she taught elementary art at Lima Christian School, before transitioning to teaching elementary and high school art at Northstar Christian Academy in 2019. In addition to her teaching experience, Lydia is a practicing artist and has had the opportunity to exhibit her own artwork at a number regional and national group art shows, and was recently included in an international online exhibition.

Lydia attends Northgate Bible Chapel, where she has served in children's ministries such as Sunday school, and VBS. Additionally, she was a wrangler and counselor at Camp Li-Lo-Li. She loves animals, spending time with family, traveling, and hiking. She has a deep appreciation for nature, and so far, has been to 20 national parks in North America, which have been the inspiration for her own artwork.
